Be Creative with Cook Books

While most of my friends vent their creative instincts by painting, sewing, or music, I cook. I learned long ago that nothing makes a good day better or a bad day bearable better than banging my pots and pans around. From the time I was twelve and my mother began buying me a series of learn to cook books, I found that nothing soothed me better than whipping up a three-layer cake. Nothing got me over a break-up faster than double-fudge brownies, and, in the time it took for me to create a turkey dinner was all I needed to get over a stressful week. My library of recipes has grown to take up an entire wall and my inner (pastry) artist is thriving.
