Healthy Eating with Cook Books

A few months ago I decided that the only way to feel better was to change my diet.  Although I was able to find several foods that improved my health, my diet became very bland and predictable.  I was becoming bored and in danger of eating junk food when I found a book filled with exciting and healthy recipes.  After trying a few of the meal plans, I began searching for cookery books that contained healthy meal ideas and found an amazing variety.  My growing collection of recipes has kept me on a nutritious track and impressed my friends when I cook for them.

CookBooks for my teenage daughter

When I became a single mother it meant juggling household tasks and ensuring that everyone did their share.  Because my teenage daughter was the oldest, she had the job of making dinner, which she hated.  I bought several cookbooks featuring fun and interesting meals and one Sunday practiced making them with her.  Soon she became interested in finding ways to improve on the budget-friendly, creative meals in a particular cookbook she took a shine to.  Within a short time she insisted on doing the shopping so she could get just the right ingredients and I was being ushered out of my own kitchen, so she could “do her thing”.   It worked really well.

Cookery Books – Ideal Gifts

Some years ago my husband bought me a recipe book as a gift because I had wondered about an exotic dish we tasted.  That book taught me so many fun recipes that he continued to find interesting cookbooks or me and give them to me for every occasion.  When my daughter began showing an interest in cooking. I continued the tradition for her, and she with her daughter.  We each have our own large library of recipes and routinely search and find recipe books which we also give to friends and family.  Everyone loves these books, which they say bring out their inner chefs.
